Hey smokinal! I bought a therm that's just the shaft and nut for small holes. The hole on the door is about the size of the therm face itself. I don't know what i can do to make it fit. Been looking for answers with no luck. What would you suggest?
So seasoning my new mse 30"today. Seems to heat nicely. No problem getting good smoke. Fire box flames up like I've read everywhere. Will replace with a cast iron pan eventually. My question is, where can i get a good thermometer to fit in the door hole. I bought one without much thought to it...
I realize this is 2 months late but from everything I've read a good cast iron pan will aid you to a longer more steady smoke. Just replace your old wood chip tray with it
So was in the market for a new smoker. Went gas route because i thought it would be a little easier than firing up my stick burner every time. My girlfriend bought me a masterbuilt elite series 30". Don't know i would have personally purchased this particular smoker but I'm gonna give it a try...
Thanks chef, i realize in the world of smoking meats it's very much, whatever works. Just wasn't sure if i was missing something. I'm sure I'll have plenty more no brainer questions in the future, lol
Never done a brisket and will set out on my maiden voyage this weekend. Have to ask though, every tv show or picture i see of someone cutting a brisket they are using a standard knife. Is there some taboo on cutting with an eletric knife? Maybe taboo isn't the right term but just seems you could...
So taste wise there is a difference? That was really the essence of my question was what i would be sacrificing taste wise. While ease of use is important the almighty flavor is what I'm concerned about. Thanks chef
Thanks fellas, smokinal, the being able to walk away and not tend it for 10 hours is prob the #1 selling point for me. Not getting lazy but for a less involved smoke, propane or eletric seem to be key. Thanks again
Been a stick burner my whole bbq career if you will. Considering giving eletric or propane a go. Against my purist ways! Just wanted to know how disappointed i would or wouldn't be trying this route? Thanks
Anybody used the sweet smoke q juice? Yay /nay? Also ordered some blues hog original and Tennessee red. Wondering how it is. Any feed back would be appreciated. Thank you
