Galvanized is okay to use wherever it does not come in contact with food or heat. I cannot imagine why you couldn't use it as a stand. For piece of mind if you're worried, you can always have a nice little bonfire and burn the coating off.
Personally I would not be worried with a galvy stand.
I was hoping to avoid the fire as well, simply because we're in a no burn period right now... but you are right, the first couple "small" fires i had in it made the paint on the bottom peel off like potato chips.
THanks!
Getting ready to paint up a 500 gal tank. I left the original paint (I believe it's powdercoating or some high strength epoxy) and just grinded down the areas I needed to weld. Can I paint over the existing, or should I remove down to bare metal?
Second part- short of mechanically removing...
I actually have that same tank sitting in my yard for use in my trailer rig. I was going to make a warming oven with it, but I'm worried it's too thin. It's now slated for an open top grill on the front of the trailer. I figure it's a good way to quickly make burgers/hot dogs, get the sauce on...
Simple is always the best in my opinion. There's a local restaurant with a wood pizza oven. They make some of the best wings I've ever had. They're just sea salt, black pepper, and rosemary. Tossed up and cooked in the pizza oven. They get smoky and crispy real fast, and like frying, the skin...
I'll take care of the trimming and rub early evening the night before, wrap it up and leave it in the fridge over night. It takes me about an hour to get the smoker ready, lit and up to temperature, so I take the brisket out and let it warm up a little while I get the smoker going.
Good luck!
I did a 140 pound pig roast this year. Everyone shows up to watch and "help" put the pig on the cooker, which we all know means you and one good friend do all the work and the other stand around and drink your beer. Pig went on at 7pm...by 8pm everyone was gone leaving me to my devices until 3...
Good Morning all!
I am in the process of a 500 gal trailer rig. Approximate dimensions of the tank is 37” dia x 10’ long. I scored an incredible deal on a boat trailer that once held a 17’ wooden chriscraft. The trailer looks like it’s been splashed in the saltwater maybe 5 times ever…leaf...
How big is the hog? how is it being cut?
a 80 pound pig, butterflied will take up about a 3x5 area. Obviously the bigger the pig the bigger the platform.
