MES 30 in Japan: It works

Moving to Yokosuka next month. We have 2 treagers… Timberline 1300 and a Scout. While this thread is informative…. It is depressing to know that wood pellets are not available. Looks like I have to buy another smoker…. Darn the bad luck!!!!!

    Kabobs

Wasn’t sure where to put this. Wife asked for kabobs for dinner so I fired up the Treager Timberline. ran it at 350…. Took about 15-20 min cook time

    Happy Thanksgiving

This is my year for smoking, after spending last year on a deployment to Europe, I have kept my Treager Timberline going for 24 hours now. 2 City Hams, a buttermilk brined, bacon butter packed spatchcocked turkey, and the green bean with pulled pork casserole is going on next. And another turkey...

    12+ hour butt smoke?

So, decided after doing a Brisket last month that I wanted some smoked pulled pork. Put a 7.5 lb butt on my Traeger Timberline 1300 this morning, and her I am 12 hours later wondering if I’m ever gonna get the chance to eat. Is it normal for a butt (bone in) to take 12+ hours? 220 till 160 then...

    Propane smokers

Ok... I have a question. Looking for a small propane smoker that I can mount to the rear bumper of my camper (I live in it). It will be tied into my 2 tanks. Any suggestions?

    GARY'S EASY BREAKFAST SAUSAGE

So, Gary, we made up a small batch of your sausage today. Used chicken, goose and some bacon. Gotta say, this is some of the best I have ever had. I'll post a pic of some frying once I finish grinding the last batch of meat up.

    Mold in smoker

I have to agree with SQWIB, use vinegar. it works far better than bleach and is not as toxic to you. "White vinegar is for cleaning, apple cider vinegar is for eating" passed down through the ages.

How did you come up with your screen name?

Mine is simple enough, for me that is. When I stated college, at 37, they gave me the username drich08033 shortly after, I had the privilege of finding my biological parents, and to honor my father who was dying of cancer, I changed my name to Dean Land. The school agreed to change my...

    You Actually Smoke food?

In all seriousness, I do know what smoking is, and have a basic (and I mean BASIC) understanding of what to do, and how it works. I'm a science nerd of sorts, so the chemistry behind smoking makes perfect sense to me. I currently do not own a grill or Smoker, they were left with my in-laws in...
