Cheech, Thanks. I have used pecan several times on chicken and pork and like it pretty well. Give it a try. I also have some grape but have not tried it yet. I usually use mesquite or pecan. I need to expand and try other woods though.
Thanks Vulcan. It was great. Next will be more spare ribs and as soon as I get the time I want to conquer a brisket. I travel a lot in my work so sometimes I have only a few hours on the weekend to get things caught up before I leave town again. I need to make sure I have at least 10-12...

I just finished my first brining on a chicken today, 5...

Hey Keith, forget my last post question. When I first saw the post I didn't see your city which is Tampa. Go there quite often on business. Welcome aboard.

Hey Cajinsmoker, forget my last post. I just realized that there is a membership listing. Duh! Oh, well, when all else fails...read the directions.
Thanks,
Mark
Thanks Cajunsmoker. It is good to hear there is another BGE guy out there. I hope to hear of his successes with this type of smoker.
Does Jminion post much? Do you know where he is from?
Best regards,
Mark
Debi,
Thanks for the welcome. I appreciate it.
The Big Green Egg is awesome. Yes, it is pricey but will last a lifetime. It is made of 1" thick space age ceramic and it looks like a big green egg in color and shape. It has vents on the top and lower bottom. It holds temperature really...
Welcome Smokeys Dad. I too am new to this forum. Just signed up.
I am a former Okie. Paid plenty of my money to OG&E. I worked the natural gas industry for years and have worked with some of your counter parts at Enogex as well. I am in Naples FL still in the Gas Industry working for ABB...
Thanks to Gunslinger, ultramag, pigcicles, and Cheech for the welcome. I am proud to be the first BGE. I have had a BGE for several years now and love it. I just never tried to smoke low and slow and think it is going to be great. I will have to post some pic soon. I have taken the 5 day...
Greeting from Naples, FL. As a former Okie, I am glad I am not in Oklahoma today with the ice storm brewing!
I just discovered this sight a week ago and loving it. I have a Big Green Egg and have loved the steaks and chicken I cook on it but never realized a good set or ribs or brisket...
