Bill, if ya dont mind me askin how old are ya? I was born n raised in Rochester Hills back when it was still pretty much corn fields n woods amd called Avon Twp.. My best friend was born n raised in Ferndale/Pleasent Ridge. Got a few good friends from that area.

My wife has trouble with acid reflux from time to time. Now being that I am new to smoking and have only really smoked 3-4 times for us as meals we are noticing that she has flair ups after chow is done.
Well, after yesterday's ribs and venison roast it happened again!
I smoked the venison and...
The venison roast and half rack has been on the smoker since 12:30. The roast took a 24 hour soak in Dr Pepper and the ribs I tried a soak in apple juice for about an hour or so.
The other half of the ribs have been on the grill without smoke for the same amount of time.....mamma's acid reflux...

Ha....my first attempt at homemade rub too! I did Cumin, Garlic Powder, Paprika, Sea Salt and Brown Sugar all at a Tbl spoon and then a bit of Lawreys and probably more black pepper than my wife will like....but hey I'm eatin too rite.
