I picked up a drum that was used for olive oil and I want/need to do a burn out(I think?) It is already cut in half and I plan to use it for a vertical rotisserie build.
Do I just fill it with wood and let it burn for several hours?
Then just scrub it out? I won't actually cook in it but...
Man that is some grub!!!! I'll take the corn bread that venture doesn't want. Gotta have corn bread with beans. You just inspired me to take the ham bone and scraps out of the freezer that I had from a recent ham smoke.

I still like the idea of a bigger build with propane but this sounds awesome for the meantime. Do you know how long it takes to get from raw to cooked enough to shave for gyros? Just curious on timing.

That was one of my original thoughts but as silly as this may sound, I wasnt sure if they would work sideways/vertical. Does the positioning matter?
