just checked on a pork butt that i put on about midnight last night. kinda taken back to see it has already reached 189 IT. my problem is we are not eating until around five or so this evening and it appears it will reach 205 IT before noon.. how should i store it from say noon til 5-530 this...
never tried them via the regular chip tray. i think i read somewhere that masterbuilt does not recommend them. weather they will work or not i have not a clue. i do know they work very well in the A-MAZE-N pellet trays. i have a 5x8 and that is all i use in mine. good luck..
i got a bag of the b and b and i think it is 70/30, i will have to go check. at any rate it burns real good and a nice TBS. Good luck and as others have said there is a learning curve so keep a eye on it the first few hours of your early smokes...
ran out of pellets and had to find some locally. found some B&B hickory at wally's and did a test run with them on my 5x8 in a mes30. been giving good smoke for the last 10 hours without interruption. it remains to be seen how well they will do on a boston butt.
you will love that amps tray. must warn you it has a learning curve, so be patient with it. mine fits perfect with very little wiggle room at the bottom left on top of the two rods that hold up the heating unit. on my first butt i loaded the tray and it lasted right at 11 hours of TBS. Good...
