Galvanized vs Stainless
If you have a welder available you could run a short bead on it and that would tell ya. galvanized will make some thick white smoke and it will almost look like little spider webs floating in the air. this maybe not the safest way but as long as your not welding alot and breathing the fumes you...- 973

Can you use Galvinized metal inside your smoker?
The temp. that galvanized metal mill start to peel and flake is around 390 degrees. the temp wich galvanizing will start to melt and give off fumes is around 790 degrees. If there is a chance your smoker will ever get to 390 at any area that has galvanized metal then i would not chance it. also...- 973

paranoid about smoker placement
I wouldnt worry a bit about this set up, Your not gonna have a lot of heat and no flames impinging on the ceiling or walls.- 973
