One large boston butt or multiple small ones?

I have been smoking bone-in boston butts about 8lbs on my wsm 22. I normally have done 2 at a time and it takes about 16 hours at 225. My question is, would i be better cooking 6lb butts (I'm thinking about 12 hours) and will 4 fit for a total of 24lbs?

    Smallest Boston butt

What is the smallest bone-in Boston butt to smoke? I have smoked 8lb and multiple 8lb bone-in Boston butts at a time on my wsm 22. I'm thinking of trying a few closer to 5 or 6 lbs, but is that to small?

Help: WSM getting way too hot

I found that I could only use about 5 to 7 briquettes to start and I had to shut down 2 vents completely and have my third vent about an 1/8th inch open, with the top vent completely open. I was really surprised at how much I had to shut the bottom vents. I also found that shutting it a little...

    WSM decision... 18 or 22?

iMy opinion, 22 for sure.  We have started smoking an extra pork butt on lower rack just to put in freezer.  Why spend the time it takes for one pork butt when I can do 2 and save in freezer.  Also, I need the full  22 for spare ribs.  Have never regretted going 22, in fact, thinking about...

    Our backyard smoker/bbq/bar

I have a pallet building with a metal roof that I moved all my stuff out of (including grill and smoker) until storms go through here in nc.  I have decided that when something happens to my current one, I am going to change it to the setup like you have.

Buying My First Smoker- What Else Do I Need In My Shopping Cart?

Only got the cyberq and adapter.  I put it in a medium sized clear tote to keep water away (electronics, would probably be ok but I feel better about it)  I love the set and forget and being able to acess from my bed in the middle of the night from my phone to check on it.

Buying My First Smoker- What Else Do I Need In My Shopping Cart?

I suggest the 22, have it and love it.  I like the smaller charcoal chimney, as I have the cyberq and only add about 6 to 7 briquettes to start so I don't overshoot my temp.

    WSM Temps

does partially closing the top vent give you extended time due to not letting as much heat out.  I know in the past when I shut it down for extended time and meat on (first couple times using) it came out horrible.  But I haven't tried just closing partially.  I have the cyberq that I use...
