Hey all! I am right under a year of smoking experience and doing my 4th brisket for Christmas.
I know weight is only one factor but it’s about a 15lb prime packer. I plan on smoking it this next Saturday at 6pm through overnight and have a 3hr drive to serve this bad boy at my in-laws. I have...
Q view of my 3rd brisket ever in my mes. Have to say it was the best one yet. Was a full prime packer from sams used Jeff’s Texas rub. The brisket by itself was amazing, but I also made some street tacos with some bbq ranch. #willmakeyourtonguebeatyourbrainsout!
I’ve just done packers whole in my mes 30. I’ve read elsewhere that you can put one of the racks up the side and put the brisket in and L sharp without cutting it. I may try this someday but you can only do 1.
I’ve always cut a part of the flat off and put them in at a later time.
Here is a...
Decided to smoke a pork butt for some nachos. This is my fourth butt and was pretty happy with the way it turned out.
Topped the pork nachos with apple jalapeño bbq sauce, white queso dip, dutches beans, onion, jalapeños, and salsa! Man theses are good and wish I could share with everyone
The rub I used was something I made myself with a lot of different seasonings. I tried several different mixes out and settled in one I liked.
I used a mix of cherry and hickory wood. Which is what I mostly used, since it’s chips I went 2 handfuls of Cherry to one handful of hickory and mixed...
You referring to the finished pic on my counter? I was surprised myself cause after I sauced them ther went back in for another 45min. They were in my smoker for almost 6hrs with my mes at 240 and even wrapped in foil for 2 hrs. Although the BB ribs around here can be pretty big. I did notice...
I fired up the mes today for 3 racks of baby back ribs. My wife was having some teacher friends over for a farewell for one of them leaving. Turned out pretty good, some were more tender than others and could do a clean pull, others had a good bite but not 100% clean. I put the bigger half’s...
Did a 9.5lb pork butt in my mes 30 overnight Friday and ended up throwing in a rack a baby back ribs Saturday morning. I figured I got the smoker on and a few racks in the freezer so why not, lol. I did this for my daughter and nephews combined birthday party. Everything was great and I did find...
I don’t have a Costco membership but our sams club price is 2.79lb
I ended up getting a few racks from Meijer since I was going already. They are all natural loin back ribs. Regular Price per lb is 3.99. So after the deal I paid ~2.00lb.
Any opinion on meijer baby back ribs. I have bought them many times but they always seem like they are from a chop shop. Extra bone pieces I have cut out, fattier, etc. they taste good when I smoke them but a lot of extra prep work.
They have a sale today and tomorrow buy one get one free. I...
Potatoes O’Brien are simply diced potatoes with red and green bell pepper in it. You pan fry them like hash browns and are great in the morning! I just bought them frozen frozen from Walmart. You can also buy them with onions in them too.
I was pretty tasty! Was great with some sauce as well! The bacon on the outside was crispy, but the spots under where it overlapped were not. I wanted to put it under the broiler but my wife was ina hurry and I wanted her to give it a try. Also used hickory and will probably go with apple or...
I decided to give this a try and do one for breakfast. I filled it with eggs, potatoes O’Brien, and sharp cheddar. I will probably change a few things next time but overall was pretty good!
I wrapped in butcher paper and towels and put in a cooler for ~5 hours. Everyone loved it and the point was way more tender and juicy. I personally felt like the flat was “ok” not as tender. I know thats how it generally is. It wasn’t tough, but I could tell when I was slicing it. Of course no...
Pulled at 9:45am one spot was 193 and had little resistance. The rest was smooth and some spots 200+ I didnt want to chance overcooking the rest for one spot.
I am wanting to have it ready to eat at 2pm we are having a bunch of friend over for a memorial weekend bbq. Just checked the temp at 11:30 and it is around 140 with my mes at 250. Just lowered it to 225 so I’ll monitor it thru the night and see how it goes. As most say... I’ll rather have it...
