Loved mine, until I didn't Last night threw some pork chops on and seared them at 550. After moving the chops up when I tried to set the temperature the controller would cycle off, come up with the R and V numbers, cycle off and repeat. Unplugged it for 2 minutes, plugged it back in, same...

Wanting a Griddle Camp Chef vs Blackstone

Ditto to ravens post. I have the older one(blackstone). Love it but that front grease catch is a pain. Really don't think you can go wrong with a griddle period. haven't used the camp chef but did see a Nexus in Home Depot the other day that looks a lot like both of them.

Well krap. Just as I was getting happy with my pellet smoker this comes along. Agree with all on the "not quite true" smoke flavor you get with the pellets but could overlook some of that for the convenience, plus the extended run time compared to an offset( hated getting up every 2 hrs to keep...

New to smoking and smoker and having problems

when I smoked that way I always soaked my chips, obviously helps with the catching fire thing you had going on but also lets them "smoke" longer. Suspect your chips are essentially burning up and out every 30 minutes.

    Pellets

I have not tried the Camp Chef ones but have used the Pit Boss and Traeger ones and can tell you that there is a world of difference using the cookingpellets or LumberJack brands, not only in the smoke but in the temp swings.

Masterbuilt dying - Help me decide next smoker:

After haunting these forums for the better part of four or five years I finally joined. I also had a MS40 that I was pretty happy with up until the electronics went out. About that same time my gas grill was in need of replacement also. Like you I ended up with a PB1100. Have to say I am very...
