Fairbanks is way colder than here in anchorage. I lived up there for a while too but moved down here because there’s a bigger market for my business. If you’re up this way send me a message sometime, you guys are welcome to come by for dinner!
So we had a record breaking winter here in alaska, 170 plus inches of snow. My smoker is finally accessible again as we had a solid six feet of snow out back that I couldn’t keep up with. Just threw on a rack of ribs to get back in the groove of it, I don’t think I’ve gone this long without...
That’s all some good looking stuff! I’m anxious about our birds, my thermometer on the smoker decided to take a crap an hour into my cook this morning so I’m having to wing it and gauge the fire as best I can… will post some pictures of them if they aren’t atrocities.
Hey guys, I’ve been off of here for quite a few months. The snow hit early and hard here in alaska and we’ve been battling it. Tomorrow we’re firing up the offset for the first time in way too long and doing two turkeys, injected and rubbed with plenty of goodies inside. Hope everyone else is up...
You guys are all going to call me an idiot for this. I didn’t buy the 500 gallon, I found a thousand gallon offset with a 250 gallon vertical on a trailer covered and wired so I bought that instead. It’s insane, but I’m going to get another business license and run it at fairs and events once I...
I know. People are starting to ask for my stuff around town a bit though, and as long as my overhead is covered on the meat and fuel, I don’t have any problem doing a few hundred pounds of meat on the weekends 😉
Hey guys, just thought I’d put this up because I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. There’s a barbecue restaurant in town that’s been closed for a couple years next to the hardware store. Well, I was there today buying some stuff and couldn’t help but walk over and check out the 500 gallon...
I didn’t get to smoke my ducks this weekend, moving was a hassle and got in the way. Had time to do these thighs on my Weber kettle, and it’s a good second choice. Got them to 175 slowly over two hours with hickory and apple, I must say I’m happy for our first real meal at the new house. Rachel...
Big yellow eye (rockfish) and tiny halibut out of prince williams sound in alaska. If you guys haven’t had yellow eye, you’re missing out… it’s almost like it’s naturally infused with butter. Best white fish I’ve ever had.
That looks awesome. Stick burners are the best… mines outside with rain pouring down, hoped to fire it up this weekend but that didn’t happen. Great looking brisket man.
Thanks to you and everyone else for the likes. Unfortunately it’s raining cats and dogs here for the foreseeable future, so going to have to live vicariously through other posts for a while.
That drill mounted puller looks tempting. How much mess did that make? Assuming set the drill on low, I could see easily repainting the kitchen with meat using that haha
