Welcome back to the SMF Gator! I also use the Char-Griller with side firebox. Interested in your mods.
Did you extended the smokestack to grill height?
How about the ceramic briqs? Can you get any details to me?
Again welcome back.

Welcome to the SMF Ray! I got excited when I saw your post as I too am looking to smoke some catfish. I've done salmon and was successfull and it sounds like catfish is next. I can get the filet's at the grocery but I bet a nice fresh catch would work out better.
LoL!

Welcome to the forum ExTex.
New myself, I've found some success adding my wood to the damper side of the firebox and pushing the coals towards the opening of the smoker as the wood burns down. The wood doesn't have much of a problem igniting next to the air intake and it's easier to control...
Are tou sure you didn't do a turkey? That's about the only thing I can make out in the picture. Oh, I think I just spotted the tail. And your wife let you put it on the tablecloth? It must of been fantastic!!!
All kidding aside, what size did you start out with on the pig?

Welcome aboard Rik. I smoked pheasant the 1st time out (along with ribs) and the pheasant came out real nice. Never had pheasant taste that good ever.

Jeff, what's the size of your burn barrel? Looks like a 50 gal., it's hard to tell in the pic's. Also, what size firebox are you feeding?
I have a Char Griller with a fire box about the size of a 5+ gallon can. I think a 50 gal. drum would be overkill for me. I'm thinkin aroung the size...
Looks like the silver smoker mods could also work on the Char-Griller Smokin' Pro. Anybody try any of these on that unit? What changes do you get bringing the stack down to the grate height?
Should a new thread be started for char-griller mods...?
Nice to MEAT you too Cheryl. Mmmmmm, did I hear wild salmon? A real treat for the smoker.
Be careful, I think I've ruined my dog just with the art of smoking going on around her. She now looks at me like she's hunting!
Thanks gentelmen. Up in Smoke, I was still stumped. Dutch, took a quick look at the link and should work fine.
Also Dutch, I was wondering when someone would figure out all I was trying to do was check for the correct spelling of pyro. Suddenly everything made sense.

Thanks SmokeMack. UNBELIEVABLE!!! And that's all I can say about that Butt! Took some pic's to show it off. I guess I'm a better smoker than photographer though, as the camera card wasn't in properly. When the rain and snow hit the temp dropped immediately. I had to construct a shed and...
