Thanx Richie my electric smoker came with a temp prob so I can check it easily, a sear on the grill is something I'm gonna try ribs have been on for a hour trying to time it so they'll be done before the old lady goes to work

Yes we had sandwichs with slaw my fiance said that was the best she's ever had and she's a homegrown Tennessee gal so that's saying something, thanks for your help that thread by bear was really helpful
I'm smoking my first shoulder today also mines a little over 5lbs what I did is when into the search and looked up pulled pork there's a cpl of really good threads in there one breaks it down almost hour by hour ,Good luck and I'm glad I'm not the only rookie here

Thanks for the hello yes my smoker came with a digital thermometer haven't figured that out yet tho and yea doing pulled pork sandwich with slaw my slaw is just so so ,I use a bag of prepared slaw with 1/2 cup vinager 1/2 cup water 1/3 cup sugar then chill for a few hours
