    Smoker for big cooks

Boykjo,  No, those are a collection of pretty much all the custom smokers that members here have built.  I put together a thread in the custom smokers forum that shows them all.  That is why they all show up in my album.  Here is the link to the thread. ...

    Smoker for big cooks

Well if you don't want to buy or build a big enough rig to do that much, then just build ya a couple more UDS's and go from there. But if you have the tools and access to scrap, you can build a trailer rig pretty cheap.

    Fungus or something on wood???

Thanks for the link.  I have been reading all I can on lichens and found that it is used in a lot of commercial products.  But that doesn't mean anything at this point.  I won't be able to use this wood till next year anyway.  I think I will brush it off or give the wood a quick preburn. ...

    Fungus or something on wood???

I got a apricot tree in my yard and it needed a major trimming.  I figured great cause I can use it for smoking.  But I noticed it all had this stuff growing on it.  I know its a common growth on most trees and I remember someone here talking about it, but I don't remember if it is safe or not.

    help...i feel stupid

ya, you should have a heavy pan that is probably cast iron.  That will be for your chips.  It will need to be closest to the flame.  The water pan which is just a light weight pan will be right above it.
