    What do you do when your bored and hungry?

    I take out a couple of briskets from the deep freezer, go buy some chicken, pork butts and pork tenderlions. Fire up the smoker and cook meals for all week. Pics to follow.

    I know this sounds nuts but I have used smoked dried ghost peppers that I ground down to a powder. 1 or 2 peppers is all I used for a small batch of sausage for a test run with the backup of other peppers and it wasn't bad at all. It actually added a woodsy smoky flavor. I still use the same...

    My Pitts and Spitts has propane assit but I only use it in the winter when I need help starting a fire in the box. So the only red oak I have heard of is the Q4U bbq truck around SLC uses it but it is in lumber form. I have found hickory here but its $999.00 a cord!!!

    I am in Herriman, UT. I am used to Hickory and Pecan, only really use Mesquite if I am cooking on direct heat for fajitas, lol.
