    I can't say with certainty but the only thing I can think is they are pre-heating. With very large cookers the top of the firebox might be to hot. Just a thought though.

    I would install an outhouse then tell them you will get rid of one (Smoker or outhouse) but not both and let them choose. People wonder why I live out in the country where getting a loaf of bread is a 20 mile trip.  I can do as I please on my own property...That's why.

    Spring Brisket
