Yep, I just started with the brown sugar method Memorial Day weekend at a BBQ competition, they are tasty indeed ! I like the idea of using a "sifter" that will make a smooth coating for sure, don't like lumps (unless its charcoal)

Wow, was I lucky to get my butt done in only 10 hrs.? It reached 200 when I pulled it out and started shredding and it was good. I did place a piece of foil over it at around 180 or so.
Anyway I enjoyed it and it looks like you(r) will (was) good too..........
Oh yeah my butt was only 5.5 lbs...
Finnally did a shoulder yesterday, went on at about 8:30a & finished up 6:30p.
No side dishes to display this time, just wanted to do one so I'm ready for the 4th of July !
OMG that is fantastic looking ! I have yet to do a shoulder (butt) but I'm gonna do one I think on Fri. What is the "time per lb." formula ? & yeah I know it depends on the temps. too.....

Around here, Syracuse, NY area, you can pay as much as $4.99/lb, I'm usually able to get them at "Aldi"s" for $3.49/lb, however we have a restaurant type store called Maines & I just picked up 2 - 10lb case boxes
for $17.99 each = $1.79/lb. They are frozen and are cut into 4-5 rib sized pieces...
