THANK YOU! I have bookedmarked this so I can come back for your ideas/tips if I decide to buy these. My only concern is thre weight of the cast iron; I am not as strong as I once was (hee hee). That is what has kept me from buying a cast iron pan. But, this may be a better answer since it is in...
Glad you like them, good choice to get two half-moons so you can pick which way you want to go. I wouldn't mind hearing how you like them after using for a while!
Thanks! They are not available around here either, I had to order online unfortunately. I'm not sure I 'need' anything else. We have made a new rule; we have to have a place already cleared out for the new item before purchasing. hah.
Thanks! Apprecciate it!
Oh, I love Tri-Tips also. I cook...
Welcome from Missouri! I am fairly new here too! I think in addition to being a good fit to your upcoming purchase, I think you will be a good fit here, too. A lot of great, fun, helpful people. Enjoy!
I understand. We went through this with two of our family members already. It is hard on them, and it was hard on us dealing with the logistics of everything and with their mental well-being at the same time. I sympathize with your situation. You have one big step behind you. Once their personal...
This is sacrilege I know, but I have never had grits. I don't know how that is possible. The gravy, corn fritters, and grits look excellent and I would love to try the grits and eat that meal!
One option is to line pans with aluminum foil rather than using aluminum pans. Making aluminum is nasty business and using foil is the lesser of two evils and foil creates less trash. Using pans and cleaning them up is the best way, but I also choose convenience over what I probably should do...
Beautiful meal all around! I am always impressed (and paying great attention) to the creative ways you prepare and cook your meals. There is always the extra flavors to bring it home. Yum. Thanks for sharing your rubs, they are bookmarked along with this thread.
Thank you!
Much appreciated!
Highly recomment it!
Go for it!
Good to know others would do things differently too! Thanks for the fancyc points! hah!
Thanks!
It is a scrumptious piece of meat!
Despite my missteps, it really was delicious!
We had plenty of everything!
Thank you so much...
Folks on this forum were talking about how good Picanha's were, so we ordered one from Wild Fork. I asked how people had cooked them and decided to try smoking one for my first run at it and tried my best to follow the helpful instructions of @tx smoker. Two things I would have done...
Thank you SO much Robert. I'm going to follow your method for cooking the Picanha. Your answers help a lot. Hope you had a great time at the gathering and are getting home safely and without incident.
There were so many different ways to cook this based on everyone's input, I decided to get...
