    I say just use the wood as you normally would. The ants burning will not affect the smoke, they aint big enough. I had ants in some of my wood and I still used it,I could not tell the difference. Besides we've all ate worse things than ants!

    I will bow to your experience. I have never washed it to get it wet, dont know how that could have happened though. I will check out the leads this weekend to see if it may have a break in it.. thanks for the help

    The funny thing is, I started to just PM him that question instead of putting it out on the SMF. I knew he would have an answer. I did not get the probe wet, it works fine, BUT, not if I leave it in, I think maybe the lid may be touching the lead, but not sure.

    when using a digital therm do you have to wrap the cable to protect it? Or do you just put it in and forget about it? When I used mine the other day it was giving me some very strange readings. I took it out and let it come back down to "room temp" and just used it as a probe and got accurate...

    I've had just the opposite conditions here in Oklahoma. It has finally STOPPED raining. The lake that is about 6 miles from my house is 24 ft. above normal. My tomatoes are doing good, my squash has molded from all the rain and my corn looks like crap. But at least my tomatoes look good! not...

    I mix regular sausage with spicy sausage, stuff it with cheese onions and peppers. I then wrap it in bacon and throw it on the smoker. You simply cannot go wrong in what ever you use to make your fatty. The possibilities are infinite .

    What he said....Plus, your going to have a hell of a time welding the aluminum to the steel. It would not bond together well, and would probably fall apart with your first use. REFILL THE KEG!!!You can buy an affordable offset from Walmart, or Academy for alot less hassle and expense!
