    350 degress for about 30 min or so.  I made three pounds.  We only had about 8 slices left.

    Yes it was delicious. I will make it again for family gatherings. It was a hit. I used apple since the bacon already had hickory in it.

    I tried this for the first time todsy. Just bacon with brown sugar and red pepper flakes. Smoked in my smoker.

    Not sauce but rub I do. I prefer Hillsdale Bank Q sauce. My rub is KC style. We are not big on vineger or mustard sauces. What sauce and rubs do you use?

    148  My wife prefers no pink.  So she ate the ends.   I ate the good part in the middle.  The ends were just past pink.

    Tonight I made my first Mesquite smoked flat iron. I also lightly smoked onions and green peppers. So good.

    Smoked Salt-What did I do wrong?

    I have already thrown it out.  So did yours have a creosote smell and taste to it?  I didn't think of putting it in a ziplock back for a while to see what happens.

    I will not even try Cowboy for one simple reason. Made in Mexico. If I have choices of imported or domestic. Domestic wins every time.

    Smoked Salt-What did I do wrong?

    I smoked some salt in my offset.  I decided to use multiple species of wood.  This batch tasted like creosote.  I put another batch in only using mesquite and apple.  This didn't have creosote taste but didn't have a strong smoke flavor.  I am new to smoking.   Are apple and mesquite a milder...
