    I love fried green tomatoes. Another favorite is grilled green tomatoes. Slice like you do for frying, coat them with EVOO season with salt and pepper. Grill over direct medium heat and sprinkle them well with Parmesan cheese the last few minutes....very yummy.

    I'm sure we could order a new damper plate from CFM who manufacturers the GOSM. May be able to find one from another source that would work. All you would have to do is duplicate the top hole dimensions and attach the damper plate.

    I'm not convinced that searing seals in the juices but I know it gives beef a great flavor and bark! I believe it would be a good thing to do on a chuck roast.
