    Getting rust off cast iron

I was recently given a nice, fairly large good 'ol heavy cast iron skillet that some one had neglected to take care of. It has some rust, no pitting, just surface rust I believe. Can I just use steel wool to get the rust off then re-season it?

Charcoal and wood vs. my MES 30

Hey all! So I got hooked on smoking with my MES 30, but I have more frequently been using my Kingsford charcoal grill. I find that I get more enjoyment out of being more hands on with the finesse it takes to build and control the fire and smoke. I had read about the "thin blue smoke" but truly...

    Pork Shoulder "picnic cut"

The local Meijer had these on sale for $.99/lb. last week, so I bought a 9 lb hunk. Do I pretty much follow the same method as I would doing a "pork butt"? I'm looking to make a batch of delicious smokey pulled pork. Should I trim the fat layer off or leave all of it on top and put my rub on the...

Going to attempt smoking a ham...

It was a hit! Thank you guys for the tips! I started with a spiral cut, hickory smoked ham. Rubbed it down in mustard then, for times sake, used McComicks Applewood rub. Good rub but it was a bit "hot" for a few people. I mixed up 2 cups of 100% not from concentrate apple juice with a cup of...
