Yeah, their is a whole in the top of the firebox that goes to the warmer, i have a homemade damper on it, were I can make it a warmer, or turn it into another section to my smoker. Yeah Its pressure treated wood, I don't let any meat, cooked or uncooked touch any sort of wood. Too much to worry...- smokerrookie

I'm gonna do just that in about two weeks if its warm enough.....gotta re-season it first. But if its as warm in northern TN as it is right now (70 today) I'm gonna load it up and bbq some meat for all the people who helped me.... I live out in the middle of no where, in a county of 5,000 people, so not to much worry about it getting stole.....plus the tires are flat as can be right now, I have to air them up every time i want to take it somewhere and had to pump them up every couple of hours.- smokerrookie

Advice on building a small trailer unit?
Brian, I built a smoker last winter/ spring....They take some time, so be prepared, especially if you aren't doing the welding yourself...Let me tell you how I did mine, and how much I think it cost me....If your family is as resourceful as you say and can find you a tank, then that will keep...- smokerrookie

Yeah, they are a little close, actually started to melt one the other day. Thats what I built me some wooden boxes on the back to keep the heat off them. Hope it works, but then again I had it like 525 degrees, so maybe at the cooler smoking temps it will be ok. I spent about 500-700 dollars on...- smokerrookie

Well thanks, yeah The boards aren't to heavy.....just 5/4 by 6 by 10 inch flooring. The tires on it are awful, probably atleast 10 years old. As soon as my paycheck from my summer job comes in, I'm gonna go get a new set of tires and rims for this bad boy.- smokerrookie

Well I had someone to do all my welding, since, well....since I'm not the best at it and don't have a welder. And I'm pretty good with a saw, wood and a drill, so I did that. Plus I thought it would look pretty good.- smokerrookie
