    Wife's Christmas Present

My wife said she wanted one of these for Christmas. Char Griller 36 inch flat iron griddle. I caught it on sale at Menards for $200.00 back in October. I have used BS in the past. I liked this because the burners have a wind protection, better temperature control, and it came with a metal...

GE Hotpoint Fridge / Freezer build?

I just saw a Master Built analog electric smoker at Walmart for $127.00. I could do that with an Ink Bird PID controller for less than $200.00.

GE Hotpoint Fridge / Freezer build?

It is definitely spray foamed. I have stopped at the moment. Instead of a smoker, I think I want to use this as a food warmer. Can I leave the insulation in a cover with wood? All food would be wrapped and covered.

New LSG Pee Wee has arrived!

Hello again. I am caught between the "mini" and the "pee wee" over some minor concerns. 1st - is the water tray. I like the built in one on the mini vs the slide out in the pee wee. 2nd - I like the separate charcoal door. Do you have issues with these on the pee wee since it doesn't have...

Long Rest vs Long Hold - help needed

Thank you. I have an Anova Sous Vide and a roaster oven. I never thought of using the sous vide to keep the food warm. It's brilliant because you control the precise temperature and it is never going to change. I think I will try with the brisket wrapped in clean butcher paper and then vac...

New LSG Pee Wee has arrived!

I am going to buy the competition cart version with eight inch wheels. In the total price, it's like 75 bucks more. Did you get the T plates? The videos that I have seen with out the T plates make me think you don't need them. Thanks again.

GE Hotpoint Fridge / Freezer build?

I have a 1999, 20.5 cubic foot GE Hotpoint fridge / freezer. It was bought used about 15 years ago. It died and I got a wild hair up my rump to turn this thing into an electric smoker. I started gutting it and discovered the entire inside is a one piece plastic shell (picture 1). The plastic...

    Greetings from Eastern Iowa

I came across this forum looking for information on an electric smoker build. I was looking to purchase a Cookshack SM160 electric smoker. This thing is large enough to cook 50lbs of meat and takes up the space a mini fridge. The main drawback is the cost - $2,200.00. It is manufactured and...
