Few weeks ago, I used a recipe I found for a really nice Texas Chili. First time I've made one with beef cubes rather than ground. It was pretty damn delicious!!!
I'm thinking of making another batch this weekend - was hoping to hear some of your thoughts about something similar I could...
I'm over on the East side, Douglas. I'm really looking forward to hitting up the Miracle Mile in the spring for some trouting! Went once already to Gray Reef area, but it was so cold my hands were not happy - and I spent the first 2hrs trying to untangle my flies and then saying screw it and...
I know it's sacrilege to talk of such things on this forum, but out here in Wyoming (I moved here from Ohio in June), it's waaaay too windy to get grilling much in the winter.
I'm hoping you folks have a suggestion or two about cooking ribs in the oven. Obviously, you can't smoke them in the...
Brother and I went out on Thursday and picked up some Ribeyes from the local meat market. Just grilled them today.
Grilled them with some Chicago-flavor seasoning and salted with a quick dry-brine.
Brother made some roasted red potates with seasonings and some black beans with bacon and...
Ok! Ribs are done and eaten! Gotta say, to my inexperienced eye and taste buds, these were darn good! I think I put them on the grill after basting them too long as most of the sauce was gone. However, I could still taste it.
In order of best taste:
1. Desert heat rub with Honey BBQ sauce...

Tried the "bend test" with the tongs and they're not quite ready to start breaking yet, hence another hour.
Brother is currently making our side-dish - this black bean and bacon dish we saw on Binging with...
Here they are after two hours!
This is after taking the one in front and moving it to the back as it looks like it's a bit more cooked. Also had to refill the water pan as it was dry.
On to the next hour!
Well, the ribs look pretty good to us! However, initial concern is that 3 racks is too many for our 22" Weber.
I had to bend up the sides of the pan to get it all to fit on the grill. As you can see, it's a little packed in there.
Smoking away nicely - will check on it in about...
Alrighty folks - after a couple of setbacks including our local butcher not having any baby back ribs and the fancy place in Columbus only having two racks instead of three, we ventured out to T&J Market to pick up our three racks.
Total cost of the ribs was about $45 for the three racks (about...
So we decided on the following:
Chipotle BBQ Dry Seasoning
Desert Heat Dry Seasoning
Honey BBQ Sauce
Caribbean Jerk Sauce
I think we're going to try the Chipotle BBQ dry as a rub and then put some Honey BBQ on it. Bro's going to try Desert Heat as a rub and maybe put some Honey BBQ on it...
