    Your Favorite Pellets?

Lumberjack Competition Blend (Maple, Hickory, Cherry) for everything I cook/smoke in my pellet grill. Works for me.

We sold our Lance 992 in July. Didn't use it enough (4 times a year max) to warrant keeping it any longer. Easier for us old folks to motel it.

We'll be back either the first or second week of June staying at the Villa Inn Sunday thru Saturday. Probably 4 or 5 three day trips as well (Tue - Thr). MUST be a GREAT dog to give him such an honorable name. ;)

    Made my Bradley Smoker movable.

I did something similar several years ago with a cart I got from Sam's Club. Then I saw this item at Costco and now use this cart. Both cost under $100 and both work well; but I like the newer one better.

In case you haven’t heard, if you are an Amazon Prime member, they will donate a small percentage of your purchase cost of any item to a charity of your choice and there are thousands you can pick from. It costs you absolutely nothing. To date, Amazon has donated $144,958,582.84 to all...

    Remote Temperature Monintoring

And just so you know InkBird - I am STILL 100% delighted with my IRF-4S. Great product and it is used on 100% of my pellet grill cooks.

    Remote Temperature Monintoring

I am very happy with it. I haven't tested the wireless feature to the max (1500 feet), but it works up to 200 feet perfectly. I charged the rechargeable batteries in April when I got it and haven't charged them since with maybe a dozen cooks up to 8 hrs since then. Worth every penny IMHO.

Did I mention that I LOVE my pellet grill?

HEY! I looked at all 3 of your posts in this thread and not once did you mention that you love your pellet grill. :emoji_sunglasses:

Where to buy Camp Chef Woodwind?

I bought exactly that unit back in February 2019. The only place you could buy it then was direct from the company. It was too new and even their reps didn't have it to sell. That may still be the case. You will need to call them to find out for sure. Mine is meeting ALL of my expectations...

    pit boss pellet grill 1000

The Walmart $15 cost is for 40 lbs; the 20 lb bag is $8.88. Was the TS bag 20 lbs or 40 lbs? The PB pellets are okay, but they use filler wood (which has no smoke flavor to speak of). I prefer LumberJack pellets (NO filler wood) that I get locally for $10 for 20 lb bags. And smokerjim, your...

    traeger or pitboss

Humidity averages between 20 & 60 % here. There are traces of ash on all surfaces inside the barrel of my CC including the grill grates and the ledges they rest on. The grease drip is thick with it. There IS some ash dust on the food but negligible if I clean/vacuum regularly. Again, it's...

    Camp Chef build quality issues?

Replace it TODAY. I had some minor issues with mine last February when I got it. CC Support was great in helping me resolve the issues and I'm now producing excellent cooks - pork & beef ribs, pulled pork, smoked fish, & jerky. I wouldn't rule them out just yet. But again - get it replaced...

I respectfully disagree. As it builds up in the barrel, it puts more and more of it in the circulating air within the grill and then more and more of it is being deposited on the edible product being cooked. For me, that is an issue. As I'm sure it is for most of the folks on here who...

    traeger or pitboss

Au contraire mon frere. I thought the same thing before buying my CC and actually using it. Very little, if any, ash actually ends up in the burn pot and then the dump cup. Just like every other pellet burning grill out there, the CC will need to be vacuumed out every 2 or 3 cooks. I...

    traeger or pitboss

Yes, it is; and it does an EXCELLENT job of searing meat. I use it almost weekly for my finish on sous vide cooks. Medium rare beef steaks and well done pork steaks done to perfection. :emoji_sunglasses:

Matt, I'm kind of laughing a little, but not AT you. I'm a newbie myself (bought my first pellet grill - Camp Chef Woodwind SG w/Sear Box @ $900 Direct from CC - in February 2019) and found out after I bought mine just how many different choices I had available to me. I'm laughing because...

    Smoked Rainbow Trout Fillets

I let them glaze for 2 hours and didn't check them at all during that time. They may have been done earlier, but I don't know. Two hours has always worked for me in the past. But I live in a dry climate (Utah). YMMV depending on your humidity. I know its higher in IL than in UT.
