Thanks, Squeazy. I had no idea.....pretty neat little feature.
BTW, I have had those ABT's before. After one of those, you can't taste much of anything else. I'll stick to the baked bean specialty, thank you.
If you start out with a $60.00 electric smoker, you can use any wood you desire. After a few smoked items, you will know if you want to spend more and expand to something more involved.
As beginners, my partner and I bought an electric smoker at Walmart. It is made by Rival and is called the K.C. Smoker. It costs around $60.00 plus tax. If you order it on line through Walmart and have it shipped to your nearest one and pick it up, you don't have to pay shipping.
We have made...
Hi loki993, and welcome to the forum. I am a newbie also and also live in Florida. You will find many Floridians here. You will also find a great bunch of folks with lots of help and advice. Stick around a spell.
Fairless Hills!!! I lived in Bensalem until a little over a year ago. My kids still live in Levittown and Newtown. Welcome to the forum.
Anyway, I'm pretty new here too and I've found a lot of great advice and some terrific recipes on this forum. The folks are great and very helpful. Stick...
I frequent the crystalrivercruisers.com and thegsresources.com. I own 2 motorcycles and Scotty owns 4.
I don't understand your statement. Do thing there is something wrong with motorcycle sites?
I also frequent a winemaking site, as that is one of my hobbies.
We have a few hobbies and smoking meat is only one of them, although lately we have been doing a lot of it. So I check my email first to see if there are any replies to posts I make on any of the forums....including smoking meat, motorcycle forums (2 sites right now), and winemaking forum.
Gads!!!!! Seemed like forever this morning waiting for Scotty to cook my breakfast. But the wait was worth it. Great tasting buckboard bacon, eggs, texas toast, coffee, and orange juice. Life is good.
Happy Sunday, ya' all!
We are smoking our buckboard bacon tomorrow. The recipe says to let it cure for 2 weeks, which we did.
After curing, rinse in cold water and allow to sit in cold water for 2 hours, drain and pat dry. (I assume paper towels for the drying.)
Let it come to room temperature (1 hour or so)...
I am surprised at Scotty. We not only eat scrapple, we have made it also. He loves it as much as I do. ..... Well, maybe not as much. But he didn't spit it out either.
Now....ask me what scrapple is?????????
Close. Actually we have 7 bikes in our "garage" (Florida Room that's not a Florida room). All different. Dom's are: Suzuki GS1100ED, Yamaha 650 Street Tracker, Kawasaki KZ1300, Harley Dyna FXDX 1440 Superglide, and his son's Virago. Mine are: Honda CM200T (my learning bike) and my new Buell...
I got a nephew who lives in Upper Bucks...Quakertown, and a niece in Allentown. Most of my relatives were born and raised Upstate PA. I was born and raised south of Philly in a city named Chester.
Scotty and I were just up there (Levittown) last month for about a week.
I got a lot of relatives...
Well, I guess I was worng, according to the other thread and explanation. Then I have no clue who brought it, unless it was Scotty. He might have had it under his helmet.
