Bigfurmn,
When I said the wood chips are uniform in size, I did NOT mean they are uniform in size to wood pellets. What I meant was the wood chips are uniform in size.
I own a Lonestar Grills 20 x 42 Pellet Smoker. Lonestar Grillz has both Oak and Hickory wood chips. I use both! I mix two parts LumberJack pellets to 1 part wood chips and get great smoke volume. I mix the Hickory chips with LumberJack Hickory, Competition Blend, and Mesquite. I mix the Oak...
I have had rotator cuff surgery twice on the left shoulder. First week after the surgery you wont be able to move your arm. After the second week you may get back some motion, but not much. As others have said, take your time, and do the rehab religiously to regain full range of motion. If...
LOL, No Chris, There is such a thing as a Pork Brisket. However, I have only found this cut of meat at Porter Road in Nashville. Go on their website and check it out. They ship directly to your house. They also have .....are you ready for this - PIG WINGS!
By chance i picked up a bottle of Apple Pie Rub from PS Seasonings. Last weekend i decided to make a few racks of baby back ribs on my LoneStar Grillz Pellet Smoker and decided to use the apple pie rub for a different flavor. I was very pleased with he outcome.
Today I am smoking Pork...
I set the cooker for 225 degrees and smoke ribs until they reach 160 degrees internal meat temp. Then I pull them off the grill, lay out two sheets of aluminum foil, lay down a bed of brown sugar, liquid butter, raw honey and a little more rub and lay the rib rack on top. Then I apply brown...
Take a look at YouTube and Google Cold Smoke Cheese - Lone Star Grillz Pellet smoker, by Texas Bluesman BBQ. He smoked his cheese at 104 degrees on his smoker. Very Interesting
There are two ways you can approach this:
1. If cold smoking at 160 degrees on the top shelf is melting the cheese, you could try moving the cheese to the bottom tray and see if that makes a difference, OR
2. Place the cheese on the bottom shelf next to a 1/2 pan filled with ice to lower the...
I have the Stainless Steel front shelf on both the Lone Star Grillz and the Pitts and Spitts Maverick 2000. The shelf on the Lone Star Grillz is a folding shelf.
The Maverick 2000 has three tier cooking grates. What a lot of people don't know about the Pitts and Spitts is that you can use the...
I use my Lone Star Grillz multiple times a week, year round, and I have never had anything but clean thin blue smoke come out the stack. I feed it a steady diet of Lumberjack Pellets and I have purchased the wood chips from Chris but haven't used it yet.
I have a 20 x 42 Lone Star Grillz Pellet smoker, but do not have the SS grates. However, the smoker is fantastic and I use it 3 or 4 nights a week. I have had three Traegers, including two Traeger Timberlines, a Pitts and Spitts Maverick 2000 (which I still have) and none of them put out the...
Yes the Hopper Lid does come off, but I don't see that as a pro or a con. I just remove it and direct the pellets to the clearance shute when it gets low or when I remove the pellets after each cook, no hinges to bend.
I have a Lonestar Grills 42 x 20 Pellet Smoker. I also have a Pitts & Spitts 2000 Pellet Smoker.
I have also had three Traeger Smokers, including two Timberline models. The smoke that the Lonestar Grillz puts out is amazing, with greater volume than any of the smokers I have had. The Lonestar...
I see quite a few are using the following as a dry bacon cure:
1.5% salt
0.25% cure #1
0.75~1% brown sugar
Question: Are these percentages based on total weight of the Pork Belly Slabs
