I personally think the ingredient measurments are perfect, but I do like a slightly vinegar flavor to the meat. I think the biggest problem is people getting carried away with the stuff. I add a little to the meat, spread it around, then I stir everything up really well. I will continue this...
I agree, follow the directions closely on your first and you will turn out some good BBQ, but if you want fantastic BBQ make sure you also use the finishing sauce (a little dab will do ya). After that you can try new things or make small changes to suit your taste. Good luck!!
I have seen this question pop up in several threads. I have read what these guys think, and to be honest, I really don't think it matters. Even if you soak prior to smoking the heat is going to evaporate all the moisture out of the wood and then it will start to smolder. Personally, I have...
I don't think you can really go wrong here, I don't have a spray bottle but I do have a brush that I use to keep them moist. Just splash on a little before you close up the foil, I might use 1/4 cup in each foil when I am wrapping a whole rack.
Pre-cooked bacon on the inside, genius idea. Fattys are great, there are endless possibilities and combinations I just can't keep enough sausage to try em all. Great work, looks delicious!!
I am still pretty new around here, so by no means is "my" technique the "right" technique. I have a shaker that I use to apply the rub to the meat, ribs for example. I cover one side with a healthy coating then I let it set for a minute and allow the moisture from the ribs to adhere some of...
I purchased a GOSM a couple of months ago and really like it. It keeps temps well unless in very windy cold conditions and it is easy to maintain. I have heard alot of horror stories about the condition of their unit if they had it shipped to them. I am lucky enough to live close to a bass...
J-BEE, I don't have any secrets but I really don't know what to tell you. My grandfather grew up in the great depression so anything he has gotten his hands on in the past 83 years he has held on to. I found some scrap stainless to use for the braces and he came up with the wheels. Just took...
It is the wide body GOSM and they definetly don't make it easy to attach anything to those spindly legs. I drilled two holes on each side of the spot weld in the widest part of the metal to attach. It was tight work getting nuts and bolts through but everything worked out o.k.
Thank you everyone, Leeman you can find Dutch's recipe in the side item section of the forum, they have made it a sticky so it is always easy to find. I cooked these guys in the smoker under the ribs to catch the drippings and give em a smokey flavor they were great. I believe this link will...
