I don't have a roller so it looks like I'm hammering. And you're right, it's not as bad as I made it sound. It still bothers me though. I guess a career in Marine Corps aviation maintenance leaves little room for error.
Yes the door, not the tank. Not sure how far past flush as it was off the tank but I jacked it as far as I could get the jack to go, which wasn’t much, before it lifted off the floor.
Well the old jack and chain method didn't work too well. It flexed but bounced back out once I released tension. I don't have a torch so that's not an option right now. But I am curious about something. If I line up 3 sides, couldn't I just grind the fourth side a little until it fits? Or would...

Just FYI, I'm cooking an eight pound butt today that was in the freezer. I put it in the fridge Tuesday and by Friday morning it was completely thawed.
Is the sell by or use by date later than the date you plan to cook? If so, I'd probably freeze and then thaw just to be safe. It shouldn't hurt to rub them that far in advance but if your rub has a lot of salt, a lot of liquid will be drawn out. I'm not gonna debate about the rub permeating the...
I agree. While you can use the main chamber as a grill, you have to be diligent about cleaning it. You can use the firebox as a grill if you're not cooking a large amount.
