First Smoke!! Pulled Pork with Qviews

There'll be a setting somewhere in your menu on the camera for "White Balance" or WB.  Read your manual about setting this for various lighting scenarios.  It'll make a huge difference. But for now and for these types of shots, set it to automatic. Later, Brian

How long to smoke a Boston Butt?

Well, had a little trouble keeping my temps up after adding lump and hickory at around 6 this AM.   Eventually got it back up after using a full starter or lump.  I ended up moving it to the oven at around 1:30 this afternoon.  It's been in there at 250 and just got foiled at 160.  I have it...

How long to smoke a Boston Butt?

So I can plan on about 15 hours give or take a bit.  Thanks! I'm (assuming 220 temp??)  I always use an internal thermometer as I'm too new/dopey to guess it right! One more question; Should it sit directly on my smoker's rack, or should it be in a foil pan? Thanks! Can't wait!! B.

How long to smoke a Boston Butt?

Hi All, I picked up a 10.6 LB butt the other day and I'm looking to smoke it on Friday. Going to be for slicing.  Any idea how long it should take to smoke?  Not sure when to put it on.  I'm using a Brinkman vertical square smoker (charcoal), if that matters. Thanks! Brian

Sweet Jaysus, that was a nice meal! Boneless Prime Rib... (w/ QVIEW!)

Wow, was I surprised that I could make such a nice meal.   My wife loved it as well. Found a 4 lb chunk o meat labeled prime rib on sale a few weeks ago.  Did some research here and said, what the heck.  Let's smoke it!  Took about 2 1/2 hours @ 230.  Pulled it at 140 degrees (it surprised me...

    Prime Rib

Well, I'm inspired.  There was a sale a few weeks ago and I picked up a 4 lb prime rib.  (But it's been trimmed- no ribs and it's kind of rectangular.  looks like the middle section of a full prime rib roast).  If it defrosts in time, I'll be smoking it for dinner.  We eat late in our house, so...
