1965 Globe Slicer for Sale in NH...$300 obo

While researching this item I found a couple that auctioned off recently for $110 and $120 at All Star Restaurant Equipment Internet only auction site. Looking at the Globe website   based on the 1/3 hp rating, I'm figuring this one is likely from their Economy line and is most likely...

    craigslist makes me mad

Agree, that's the same thought I had.  If I'm going to pay $300 I'll spend the extra hundred for a new one.  The guy has been posting for a few weeks, he may be open to offers.

    craigslist makes me mad

Steve, did you see this one in Raleigh http://raleigh.craigslist.org/hsh/2084119637.html   ?  $300 seems a bit much for used one, but just thought I'd post it.  I've kept my eye out for a WSM on CL too and this is the only one I've run across so far.

How many UDS owners have 'doors' on their drums???

I've been tempted to just buy a clean drum online.  I never realized how difficult it has become to find a drum.  Everything seems to have switched over to plastic for the most part around here.  The shipping is usually pretty high ($50 to $60) for online orders but sometimes I think I could...

    First time smoking pork shoulder...

You can pick up a descent inexpensive probe for $15 to $20 from Walmart or Lowes.  Home Depot probably also stocks something.  You can find the Taylor Weekend Warrior model which is very accurate and reliable at Lowes.  I'd make the Taylor my first choice and Walmart version my second...

First Spare Ribs and Large Pork Butt

Sample = Rack!  LMAO  That's what I'm talking about! haha   Nice looking ribs...that 11 pound butt should take you a while!   My UDS thermo which is a 2" runs about 30° to 40° lower since it's not out there over the coal basket.  I still run a probe on the grate to keep a more accurate track...

    brine container

I was just reading a great article somewhere on using an igloo.  The guy would freeze a gallon milk junk of water, pour the brine in the igloo, then the bird.  He would then set the gallon jug on top of the bird serving two purposes, 1) held the bird down in the brine and 2) it kept the...

How many UDS owners have 'doors' on their drums???

The way I set mine up is by dumping 10 to 12 pounds of charcoal in the basket, move the coals to form a small hole in the center and then place 8 hot coals into the middle of the coals.

Tiny flakes in Atlanta!!! Run!!! Hide!!

Steady rains here in the Carolina's.  It is amazing even when the "chance" of frozen precipitation is in the forecast it's none stop on the news and then when the flurry's start they interrupt TV programing to broadcast live feed like they do for hurricanes.....there's a snowflake as they focus...

    First Pork Blade Boston Roast

I usually go to 200° but nothing wrong with going to 205°.  Are you foiling at 165° or just taking it to temp and then foiling?  I also prefer something in the water pan because it adds moisture during the cook. What chamber temps are you running, internal meat temp of 160° in 3 1/2 hours is...
