Happy lucky 13..
I have never smoked a turkey and I want to. My wife doesn't like chicken off the smoker because the skin turns into leather. Does the same thing happen with turkey? I offered to smoke the turkey this year rather than having the fire department show up because of my deep frying it, but she said...
There are bars where the bartenders are men?
Sally, down there at Whirly Girls, only charges for "private" consultations..

Edited because Wikipedia is telling me something different than I learned in Oceanography class in High School a LONG time ago and Culinary Arts class in college. So, either science changed or I didn't learn...
My daughter will be 21 next month and she's living with some dirtbag that smokes something other than meat.. Dad ain't real happy with her right now.
So, cherish these times while you have them.. My mother has a saying and it's so true: "When they're young they step on your toes. When they grow...
That's right! DON'T EVER ask a question that has been asked before! You will be stripped and slathered with BBQ sauce, have a probe stuck in your shoulder, brisket, or butt, and left in the desert until you reach 195' for slicing or 205' for pulling!
Or, they'll just be cool and treat you like...
Yep, you're real close. I hang out in Florence with my Ham Radio group. We go to the County building over there on Butte Rd. I think you were the one who gave me the heads up about the wood guys in Phoenix. I'll give you a heads up. Albertsons in Casa Grande has Country Style Pork Ribs on sale...

Where are you at? You may have some smoking neighbors that'll invite you to...
I have used Coke and Italian dressing before for short smokes. Coke tends to put on a nice sticky caramel
I just use water now. I rely on the apple juice I spray on the meat and the rub drippings to flavor the water as I go...

This is my 1st year smoking and I have never done it...
Did the judges offer critiques? I know in Chili Cookoffs I have been in they offer suggestions or reasons why I ranked where I did..
Good job on the score..Especially for the first time in a competition!

I need therapy... Maybe I'll do some canning or make some sausage or something. I just know I have to get my backside off this chair and do something..
Naww..It's too hot to do anything..
The term fatty is a relative term. It means different things to different people. If you were to ask for a fatty in NY, you would probably be directed to the back alley for that purchase.
But here, a "fatty" is a Jimmy Dean sausage roll that is smoked. Some don't use Jimmy Dean and some stuff...
