    Cleaning grill grates

Like everyone else, after I'm done smoking, I open the damper wide open and get it as hot as I can, then brush the grates with a wire brush and spray with some Pam or brush with cooking oil. Just be sure that the racks aren't coated with that black coating that keeps them from rusting, self...

    Garlic Beef Roast

Gene I don't know how I missed this post but that roast looks fantastic!! I agree with the roasted garlic, nothing better than roasted garlic and butter on a steak, or even tossed in some pasta. Like jbchoice1 said, roasting garlic is easy, and well worth the time. I like to peel a couple of...

    What is a Tri Tip?

Same here. I never heard, saw, or ate one until I visited some friends in California a few years ago. I never hear anyone in my area ever mention a tri-tip unless their from out west. I'm sure they're avaliable here, maybe I just got an idea of what to smoke this weekend.

    My Allowance!

WOW!!! How did you make room for all of that? Nice pick up on the SnP, I also bought mine used for $50, it took a few smokes to get my baffles and firebox mods dialed in, but it works great now. Another must do mod is a good thermometer and to replace those tiny round plastic disks they call...

    Silver lake pics, and results!

Don't know how I missed this thread? Anyhow, thanks for sharing the photos, looks like a good time was had by all. I'm going to have to enter a backyard BBQ competition sometime, I wouldn't expect to do well, but it sure looks like fun, kind of like tailgating without the football game.

First Full Q-View 16.82pnd Rib Eye Roast from Sam's

They look really good, can't believe they weren't to your liking. Maybe beause they were lean cuts of meat, the flavor from the fat wasn't there? Either way, you smoked them perfectly.

    3 Racks BB's and Dutch's Baked Beans w/Qview

I rubbed up three full racks of BB's and a fattie to start with Saturday. I ended up using a 2½-2½ method and it worked great. After 2½ hours the fattie was done, foiled the ribs and added the beans to the smoker. After another hour I added the rest of my mopping mixture to the ribs as...

French Toast and Scrambled Egg Breakfast Fattie w/Qview

I've been on a mad Sunday morning French Toast kick, so I thought, why not make some FT into a fattie. I made 2 slices of FT the usual way and let them rest while I scrambled some eggs with cheese. Then using Capt Dan's (should be a patent directions) I diced up the FT and drizzled some mayple...
