Boiling meat just seems so wrong when there's so many better ways to prepare them. Even ribs just slathered in sauce and wrapped in foil in a 300° oven would be easier IMO. I even cringe when I have to boil vegetables, and I'd never reheat ribs in a microwave unless I was at the office or...
I've had some bad blunders in the passed but this one wasn't all my fault but was very funny.
A 10 years ago I was hosting my first Thanksgiving at my new house, I had just bought my first Weber Kettle and was going to cook a turkey on it. I had done one a few weeks before as a test run and it...
This is the only smoker site I visit, period!! Everyone here is very helpfull and it's nice to be able to ask a stupid question without having to worry about being snubbed or jabbed. It's nice to visit a message board without the childish petty arguing.
I've learned so much in just a couple...
Thanks for the points Krusher!! I wish I could've gotten my temps up a little higher to make the bacon a little more crispy, but other than that, it came out great.
Thanks for the comments, and yes I get a lot of questions, laughs and eye rolling as the flash goes off in the kitchen and at the table. My GF and a few friends are now use to it, but some think I'm a little off my game. Everyone had just sat down at the table and we started eating when I...
You said you were able to get the temps up to 550° to 600° to season it, what did you do differently when you went to smoke your brisket?
I'd also get a differnt thermometer and compare the temps, the therms that come with that unit are known not to be accurate.
As far as the water pan goes...
Thanks everyone for the comments!!
Richtee, after I rolled the loin up I realised I could've stuffed it with something.... like stuffing .
I was a little rushed Sunday morning because we were suppose to go to a friends house to watch the Bucs and Rays games. His kid was sick and had to...
So what do you think it is?
If you guessed a Pork Loin, you're right!!
I bought a 2 lb split pork loin Sunday and marinaded it in a Chipotle mixture. I wanted to cook them as one piece, I thought about using toothpicks or butchers twine, but thought, why not bacon? Using Capt Dan's said...
Very Sweet!!! Great job!! Your TT's look awesome!!
POINTS!!
I just became aquanted to the Tri Tip a few weeks ago and I really love them. It's hard to find Tri Tips in my area, most places grind them up or make sizzlers out of them.
The ones in your pictures look huge, how big were...
Thanks, smokebuzz, the guac was great, I just finished it off with the left over Torilla chips.
bbq bubba, thanks for the points!! I really love southwestern cooking, it's just sooo good.
Thanks for the Points and comments!!
It's funny when you mention if I'm from Texas; everytime I mention the cut Tri Tip, I either get a weird look, or I'm asked if I'm from California or Texas. The Tri Tip cut in these parts are pretty much unknown, the meat cutters here, either make...
I'm really liking these Tri Tips, after smoking one last week, I knew that I needed a good piece of meat to feed the guys coming over for the Bucs game. I found a good butcher thanks to Vlap, (Oneco's Meats) that hand picks and tirms them for you. I got a 2.6 pounder, and it's like butter. My...
