Butts were on sale for .99c so I decided to buy four for this weekend. This is the third time this year I have found butts on sale for a dollar, needless to say I have been doing a lot of smoking. So on with the show....

I will have to try the brocolli addition to slaw. One time I smoked a head of cabbage and peps loved it. I have been known to add cukes, mushrooms, olives & bbq sauce to mine. I never make my slaw the same and it drives my wife crazy but daum it is awesome.
Nice little unit, I could see where peps might like it for $129. However it is a little too small for me and I do not like the electric aspect. I think I might have to build my own unit as everything is too small or too expensive.
Sometimes when I do a smoke for 6+ hours and the meat is not to temp I will just wrap it in tin foil and finish it in the oven. There are times when I buy shoulders and hams I cut the skin and fat off to allow the smoke to penetrate better. I save the skin and fat and freeze it in a gallon...
Lurking for months, finally decided to join. Currently smoking in meat in Cary, NC. I have a homemade pig cooker, Brinkman bullet & a cheap gas grill. Been snooping around the smoker builds and plan on building some new cookers this fall. My wife thinks I am crazy for wanting to keep adding...
