im building an automatic pid controller for my double drum smoker. I have a mypin ta4 controller. my question is do I have to use an ssr to power a 24 volt dc 10 cfm fan or can I just wire it to the controller
thanks dave that's what im workin on now, im using 50/50 charcoal and wood so I get most of my fuel for free. unless I redesign the smoker. think ill just build the fan system with a pid controller seems like it would work really well and be hassel free.
exhaust is again a 6 inch just like the intake, my vents are on both ends and below my grates, I used a hair dryer this weekend to keep my temp up and worked wonderfully. so I thought id just make an automatic temp control to help.
im looking to build an automatic temp control for my double drum smoker I just built. the damn thing just wont pull a draft to keep my temp around 225. I cant seem to find a good fan that will put up with the heat in the firebox. anybody have any suggestions.
well first cook on the new smoker I built, what a bitch getting my temps right, no draft on the cooker at all lol, well the wifes hair dryer came in handy got the pit up and running and kept it steady, to bad her hair dryer is now melted hehehehe. the pork and chicken quarters turned out...
about 2 lbs each. and thanks for searching for me I didn't even think to look duh. not sure yet when im gonna do em. ill let you guys know how it turns out. thanks again
hey guys I have 4 lbs of octopuss and im looking for a recipe to put it on a smoker, anybody out their ever cooked octopuss or know of any good recipies. would love to hear some input on how to cook it on the smoker.
just finished my double drum smoker yesterday got it burnt off and fired it up this morning to find out how it reacted. found it very easy to control temp. only bad thing is it eats charcoal. think im gonna line it with bricks. haven't painted it yet I think it looks pretty cool just like it is...
