Sooner,
let me start by saying Jeff's rub is just fantastic. the first time i ever smoked anything, i used it and i have tried many variations and different recipes but Jeff's rub always welcomes the prodigal son back when i am ready to do things right.
if you add jalapeno or green chile...
I did the same thing Bearcarver did and about broke my mouse getting over to this post thinking it was a 16 pound shoulder from Pig-liath.
Looks great. I bet the AJ in the foil pan gives it a great aromatic character.
Any excuse is a good excuse to fire another rack of BBs if you ask me. Everything about what you're doing sounds good - You might try adding a little apple juice into your foil instead of parkay. Might help the moisture level a bit.
Anyways I guess it's like golf - your next shot could be the...
Sweet mercy that thing looks delicious. I liken it to an alien ship crashing on earth and then beautiful alien women emerging like in those bizarre old scifi movies from MST3K...in other words, something so good coming in such an unusual package. Maybe a bit of a stretch, sorry.

In my humble opinion, the best fair food in the world is the Fletcher's corny dog at the State Fair of Texas. No smokers are involved unfortunately, but I personally invite the Chow Hounds all across this great country of ours to come and see what I'm talking about. For many folks in this...
Delicious. And good thinking with the cigar, after all shouldn't you treat yourself to a nice smoke? With the beans and baby backs going, you don't want to feel left out...
Wow that looks incredible. Reminds me of one time my mom had chicken on the grill and got distracted, and dried it out a bit so in an attempt to salvage the meat she threw it in a cookpot on the stove with beer and some aromatic vegetables...that accident led to some of the best chicken i have...
I lived in Virginia for four years and loved it. I certainly missed my Texas bbq but developed an appreciation for the Carolina style. Anyways, there I discovered apple butter and haven't stopped eating it since. Never heard of anyone trying to incorporate smoke flavor into the apple butter...
