    gathering in Kentucky

I don't know of any place.  We need to see how many people are interested and then find a central area.  I'm in Wilmore, just outside of Nicholasville.  If someone had a farm, that would be an awesome place.  It would be plenty of room.  If we are talking about getting together and doing a bunch...

While I hated everything about my ribs, color, taste, etc. I did end up taking 3rd place. I was totally shocked. I was pretty discouraged going to...

    New smoker suggestions

Hey guys, I'm looking to add a new smoker to my " arsenal ". I have a char griller duo with sfb and modified. I am looking at the Oklahoma Joe Highlander or the Char Griller Akorn. Both are about the same money. Which would be better and why? Thanks, Patrick

    Hey guys char griller here

Lemans, when I get a chance I will put up some pics of the mods I did. Basically just sealing everything up, baffle and tuning plates, and I moved the smoke stack to the other side, make it somewhat of a RF.

    Keeping meat cold for comp

I haven't had beer freeze, but I have gone camping and put ice on top of my meat and it that partially freeze. That's why I didn't know if the ribs would or not. I'm thinking for just a few hours they would be ok. The comp is only about 25 minutes from my house, so I wouldn't be putting them on...

    Keeping meat cold for comp

I am entering a comp in Sept. It's an amateur comp. Baby backs only. I have to keep the ribs under 40 degrees until it is checked. If I put ice on top of them, will they freeze? It will probably a couple of hours on ice before they get checked. Thanks for any input. Patrick
