What Is Something You could Not Live Without In The Kitchen?

I have to agree with this one also. I am on a well system and have run out of water many times. It always recovers but is a pain in the butt when you run out. One winter the lines froze and spilt. I could prime the pump but would lose the water pressure when the tap was turned off. That cost me...

What Is Something You could Not Live Without In The Kitchen?

For me its my very old and trusted friend the "slow cooker" It has given me some very great meals over the years. For those that still have to work and feed a family when you get home these are the best invention for the working couple. Wake up, throw some meat into it with veggies and set it...

    Sourdough Starter.

I have plenty of Sunny's sweet bread starter in the freezer dehydrated but no sour dough starter backed up in a dehydrated form. Any difference in dehydrating? I would not think so but thought I would ask anyways.

    Sourdough Starter.

For my sour dough starter I use the 5 gram method. 50 grams of starter 50 grams of flour 50 grams of pure water Works for me.

    Sourdough Starter.

Yup and I totally agree as I have used it in many of my bread making adventures. Nice to have a buddy up the road that makes his own stone flour.

    Sourdough Starter.

I made my own sour dough starter from scratch. It took a few weeks before it had that great sour dough smell to it. Working with starters is nothing new to me as I have a sweet bread starter that I have used for over 20 years. Using the right flour to get it going I think is the key. The one I...

    Live edge clock

Buddy told me the tree is not as big as the hands of the clock, I told him I should have waited another 40 years for the tree to grow up. Ya right like I'm 67 in a few days and I can wait that long LOL

    Live edge clock

My first live edge clock from a apple tree I downed last year. Slabbed a piece of one end. Dried in the micro wave to lose all the moisture. 30 seconds at a time works great. Planed and sanded. Routered the back to fit the clock machanical part. Lasered a clock and Harley davidson emblem. It is...

    Engraving Ceramic 6x6 Tiles

Ya my mill was called Great Lakes Paper when I started back in 1975. Then it changed names so many times I had to look it up. One good thing is I have many different jackets with different logos to wear. LOL I started out as a six hand and the last 20 years I was the working formen. I retired...

    Engraving Ceramic 6x6 Tiles

First one took just over 3 hours. Second one was just over 4 hours. I'm doing one right now and it says almost 5 hours. I'm guessing it all depends on the amount of detail in the photo and how dark you want it. The faster you go it will be much lighter. I really need to make a speed and power...

    Engraving Ceramic 6x6 Tiles

So I have now experimented with (6x6 in.) ceramic tile engraving. The way it is done is by adding white paint to the tile which can be a pain in the ass to remove so by using Titanium Dioxide the product that makes white paint white can be bought for real cheap. All you need is a way to mix the...

    Amish Sourdough

Nice bread Rick, way to many irons in the fire for me to even consider making bread but I do see my starter is trying to bust out of its container in the fridge. Might be time to let it loose for a good run.

    Two New Glass Engravings Today.

For my 5x7 dollar store picture engaving I think I have come up with a way to light them up at night. Modified the frame to except the LED base. Traced out the size of the LED base onto the backing and cut it out on my scroll saw. Had to modifie the frame a tad for the wiring but really not...
