I finally got my 5/8 thick plate for my fire box today. I even got motivated and half made it. Your not wrong dave this sucker is heavy i will weigh it and let you no once i finish it. I havent done the door yet and yes i will be putting vents opposite the opening. I made it 4 inches taller...
Wow man thats looking like a sweet smoker. Cant wait to see her finished. Ill be following your build for sure. I like how you cut the fire box into the cook chamber. Is there any reason for this other then to look good and being a stronger join because of slighly more weld. Does your baffle...
Hey imafishingfred. Nice looking smoker. Just wondering if your drain hole in your rf plate is big enough? Ive never smoked before but id imagine with the big volume of cook space you could have quite a bit of drippings. If its just oils probably be fine but maybe bits of meat might block it up...

I have the same thermometer and agree. Its a great thermometer but it is a little tricky to use. I feel as if it needs a few more buttons to make menu selection easyier and the light dosnt stay on long enough for me.

Hey bishgeo . Where did you end up putting the plenum? Iam having the same problem figuring out how and where to put mine. Did it work out for you? Iam guessing the plenums job is just to provide a transition for the exaust. from the cook chamber to the pipe. You definitely wouldnt want the...

I have this 90 degree bend that i was planning to use for the stack exiting the cc. Ive just discovered a previous post i think from dave saying that 90 degree elbows can restrict flow. Is that comment refering to home made elbows? Would this bend fine to use? As far as stack placement to the...
