    Question on kitchen aid mixers

I'm guessing Dave's lube is probably the same stuff or very similar to the lube I use on my home brew keging system.

    Question on kitchen aid mixers

I'll make sure to take it apart this weekend. What type of grease should I be using? I'm guessing it at least 30 years old and most likely older.

    Question on kitchen aid mixers

okay, when I got home from work, I pulled the mixer out of the basement to see what it looked like. I noticed it had 10 speeds. I turned it on at low speed and it worked. I then turned it up to the second speed and it seemed to speed up, I tried again at the 3rd speed and it increased again. It...

    Question on kitchen aid mixers

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I did see a question on mixers in it. I was given on older kitchen aid mixer from my parents. Catch is, it only works on low speed setting. Does anyone know if the other speed settings can be fixed or how I would go about getting it fixed?

    Can't decide

I would eliminate the Traeger. Father purchased on a year ago (against my advice) and ended up returning it within 30 days. Temps would swing 75 degrees. He called customer service and was told this was normal. I would go Pit Boss before traeger and save yourself quite a bit of money. I don't...

    USDA PRIME BRISKET BURGERS

Great post Al! I had asked this very same question in a thread last week. Now I have first hand knowledge. I wonder how much difference there would be between Prime and Choice for burgers. My local walmart clearances the choice briskets for for anywhere from $1.79-1.99 a pound when they get...

Anyone grind brisket up for hamburger?

Interesting how different cuts of meat can vary so much from one region to another. I can find USDA prime brisker for $2.99-3.49 at costco. Tri-tip around here is usually in the $5-$6 lb range. Beef Chuch can be foudn on sale for $3.99 at times but is usually $4.99+ unless it is the arm chuck...

Anyone grind brisket up for hamburger?

I'm curious if any of you have bought brisket and then ground it into hamburger, and if so, how were the results? I have noticed that some restaurants in my area will list that they use ground chuck, or sirloin. One place claims they have a mix of ground sirloin, brisket and chuck. I'm just...

pellet smoker used as a grill ???

A pellet grill will work for grilling but you do not get the smoke flavor at those temps. I used mine for about a year and then went back to the weber and hardwood lump when grilling. If I'm in a hurry I will use my weber gas. You will also read a lot about paint starting to peel when grills...

    GMG Excellent Customer Service

Late last summer I started noticing that my Davey Crocket would intermittently quit. It continued into the winter. then while ice fishing in February, it quit and I could not get power to the unit. We finally noticed it had a short in the ac/dc adaptor cord. I finally got around to emailing...

pellet smoker used as a grill ???

I agree. I used my Blazn to grill with a couple times when I first got it. then the novelty went away and I went back to the gas or charcoal grill. Takes too long to heat up and the high temps are not good for the paint.

    Now comes the wait...

I bought my first pellet grill about three years ago. I did a lot of research on the $1000-$1500ish brands. It came down to the yoder and Blazn Grill works. I ended up purchasing the Blazn which was about $1600 delivered. It cam with the custom color hood and insulated door. After looking at...

    Suggestions on inexpensive wood smoker

I am starting to look on Craigs list for used and inexpensive ($100-$200) wood fired smoker. I currently have a Blazn Grill Works Grid Iron and a GMG Davey Crocket pellet grills. I will continue to use these 90% of the time but on occasions when I want a heavier smoke profile and a few hours...

    Bacon Wrapped Brisket

When I use bacon on a brisket, I put a small slit on one end of the flat about 3" wide. I then cut a big butterfly opening in the center of the brisket making sure not to puncture threw the top or sides. I then put cubed up pieces of bacon in the brisket and cook until finished. This keeps the...
