Was just thinking about making Loco Moco. It’s been a while. Have eggs, left over rice all I need is a burger patty!

    Bringing the outdoors in

Really like our Solostoves. The bigger ones give us a piece of mind when camping that we won’t burn down the forest. We don’t camp in campgrounds so having a safer way to have a campfire now a days is a good thing.

    Bringing the outdoors in

Those are great stoves. Had one moons ago that someone decided they needed more than I did. I’ve used all kinds of backpack stoves over the years. Really like the twig burners because we don’t have to pack fuel. Most places we pack in we can find twigs to burn. When we camper camp my white gas...

    Bringing the outdoors in

Here I was using denatured alcohol in an alcohol burner. When camping and outdoors I use sticks and twigs and occasionally wood pellets.

    Bringing the outdoors in

Fired up the SoloStove Lite with the alcohol burner. Buttered up the little 3 1/2” lodge skillet and fired up an egg!

    Covid Vaccine ?

Oregon’s dragging their feet. Looks like for our age group we won’t be able to get it until June or July... at that point who knows if we’ll even need it. Most backwards system going on here.

    Eggs Benedict - My Way

Looks tasty, but I have to say, packaged hollandaise? My Sous chef was on a hollandaise kick and I got him using this easy microwave recipe that actually works. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/233971/quick-and-easy-hollandaise-sauce-in-the-microwave/

Sous vide on a pork butt

I’ve done pernil style pork in the Sous vide and it comes out tasty. I think since tje perjil marinade has a lot of flavor anyways the smoke isn’t missed. Not to mention most pernil for cubano sandwiches isn’t made over fire but roasted in the oven.

SV question about a pork roast

The last one I did I ran 180 for 16 hours. Turned out great. Did it pernil style.

    Vietnamese pork loin

Looks tasty. Some Vietnamese, Korean and Thai flavor profiles people don’t like. My wife (who claims to be an adventurous eater) doesn’t like a lot of Vietnamese or Thai food. Crazy!

You might be able to find one through a restaurant supply or an online restaurant supply. Most standard tables are 36” high or less.

    3 1/2 Pound T-Bone: An Exercise In Simplicity (W / Q-View)

Great Looking meal! I tend to go simple on rubs and marinades too. Usually SPOG and Henderson's relish for beef. Chicken and pork pretty much just SPOG no marinade. For chicken and pork I usually cook larger quantities so we have leftovers to use through out the week or to freeze for later. SO...

Scarbelly wings, twice baked taters and indoor s'mores

Thank You! Last smoke we'll have before the "Big Snow" hits! Supposed to finally get a big dump. Not that snow stops me from cooking outdoors. Just slows the process down a bit!

Scarbelly wings, twice baked taters and indoor s'mores

Been several years since I made Scarbelly wings. See that I was not the only one making them Sunday. I didn't cook for the super bowl haven't really watched pro ball for many years. I must confess I did watch several Charger games. Herbert really is special to watch as a rookie. So enough of...
