We leave them wrapped in the oven for hours, & our oven only goes down to 170. About 1 hour before we eat I would take it out of the oven & sit on the counter still wrapped. Then pull it right when we eat.

I have casings over 4 years old, stored following Joe’s method, & they are still like new. Hardly ever have a blowout, and they have a nice pop when you eat them.

You have so many variables involved. Don’t know what IT got to, don’t know smoker temp., big difference between 4 hours & 8 hours. The plus is you did not inject. If it were me I would probably just finish it up & eat it. You said it had good bark, so that would mean to me that it probably did...
I have that same brand for our hydroponic setup. Mine measures PPM, TDS, & PH. Cost me $11.00. I compared the results to my Apera, & they are just about the same. I guess I could take it one step further & calibrate both of them & test again.
