    Rubs

I make my own, what my family/friends or I want as far as flavor. I also take notes on what worked and what failed, and trust me I have a lot of rubs that have failed and some that I/we love. I made a list of Sweet, Mild, Hot and Very Hot and what type of meat I used it on. Not sure if it...

    Pellet Smoker Question

I have a pellet smoker also.........smoke it in your stick burner. There is no beating a stick burner, the meat is so much better and I use my stick burner when it starts to warm up my electric and pellet smokers are more of a " in a hurry no time to baby sit" kind of smokers.

    New user, looking to upgrade

I bought the PitBoss 700 from Walmart and I use it a lot. I have done more over night smokes then I can count in it. I like it as you said a "set and forget" unit and all you have to do is make sure you do not run out of pellets. On the other hand I also have an Analog electric Masterbuilt...

Snow Finally is mostly gone (after 41 days)

I am glad to see the snow gone! Grew up in northern Indiana, joined the Army and every place the Army sent me was more snow. My wife retired from the Air Force and we now live in Oklahoma and I do not miss the snow at all. We did have some this year and some very cold temps here in Oklahoma but...

I am with 5GRILLZNTN. I also use the "cheap" clear gloves to apply rubs, so I don't have to wash my hands so much.

    Rub vs Seasoning

I agree with Bytor. Try what spices you have and take notes so you know what was bad, good, great and outstanding. So you can repeat what you and the family liked.
