    simple but tasty

I think bacon would go well with it. I'm not a fan of onions, but for those that are, onions and peppers would probably be good additions.

I made it again in tonight in the 10" skillet. I forgot to add the salt and pepper, but it is good nonetheless.

    Lodge Dutch Oven cooking

Do you have a camp oven or a Dutch oven? A camp oven has the legs and the rimmed lid to allow for cooking with charcoal. Also, what size is your oven?

    another trip to Commerce

I went back up to Commerce today and stopped by the Lodge outlet store. I didn't buy too much stuff today. I picked up a trivet, a few handle holders, and a 6" skillet from the seconds rack that was only $4.38. They had skads of 8, 10, and 12" skillets on the seconds rack this trip. The...

    cutlery?

I found a three knife Henckel Pro S set with honing steel at a pretty good price today. The store threw in one of the wooden knife blocks and told me that if I found a store coupon or got one in the mail to bring it in and they would give me back the appropriate amount. The set includes an 8"...

Does Bed, Bath, and Beyond have the knives in stock in their stores, or are they only available online?

    cutlery?

I'm looking to buy a few pieces of fairly nice cutlery. I want a nice chef's knife and maybe a boning or all-purpose knife as well. What are the good folks here using? Suggestions? I know that Henckel and Wusthof are two of the big names, but they also have a big price. I read a few...

    fireplace?

We have a wood stove at work, and I have thought about taking some of my cast iron cookware to cook on top of the stove just for kicks.

    fireplace?

Yes, I was planning to use coals and not a true fire.

    fireplace?

Any of the good folks here ever cook with their camp ovens in the fireplace? We have a fireplace but never use it. We are the original owners of the house and have lived here for five years, but we have never had a fire in the fireplace.

My wife moved my cameras when she put up the Christmas decorations, and I couldn't find them.

    simple but tasty

I put my 8" skillet topped with the lid from my 8" camp oven with just enough olive oil to coat the bottom and put it into my oven at 350 while I sliced up some taters. I dumped the taters in the skillet and let them cook for a while and eventually upped the temp to 375 and added some Hickory...

any Northwest Missouri State Bearcats here?

Yup. It was a very exciting game. We scored with 22 seconds left to take the lead and win the game. The win as well as good ribs (twice) from Big Bob Gibson's made the trip worthwile. :)

    Florence/Decatur, AL?

I ended up getting away from home earlier than expected and went through Birmingham too early to stop at Dreamland. I ate lunch at the Danville Road Big Bob Gibson's location and had a ribs and pork combo plate. I very much liked the ribs, but I didn't much care for the pork. It had an odd mushy...

    Florence/Decatur, AL?

I won't be passing through Huntsville. I'm coming from Georgia on I-20 into B'Ham and then taking I-65 north to Decatur. The next morning I will be taking 72 into Florence. Thanks for the suggestion though.
