We went into town and attended the Canada Day festivities at the local museum--Miss Linda is on the Board of Directors and was kinda expected to attend. Had a great time looking at all the "old" exhibits (the area is less than 150 years old) and watching the dancing put on by the Indians. This...
Like casmurf, I've used the Smoke by Thermoworks for several years and love its accuracy. I also use a slow (about 7 seconds) "Instant Read" by Webber (slow but very accurate)......I'm never in that big a rush. I used to have a Maverick but just never happy with it so I gave it away.

Great meal Robert. I'd sure be happy for a plate full.
Gotta say though, if that's your idea of ugly, I'm sure glad you never saw some of the "creations" I've put on the table. :emoji_confounded::emoji_confounded:

For all you Canucks out there, Happy Canada Day. Not a fan of the Woke "Cancel Canada Day" crowd, so I'm taking Miss Linda and our grandson, Orion, out in about an hour to take in some of the festivities. Tonight, hopefully, we'll watch a fireworks display.

Beautifully done! The chops sound really great, and those potatoes............I'm definitely gonna try a batch of them!! The grilled beans I can live without, but that's just me.

" Disney's whale" and "Elk City" are great! "OK I'll go camping" is the only way I could get Miss Linda out camping these days. Now, her idea of roughing it is if Room Service is slow.

I made a batch of these several years ago. They weren't a big hit at our place, so never made them again. Now, after reading all the comments, I'm thinking they would probably be really good in a potato salad. Gonna make a batch and try that.

I live in the bush 20 minutes from a town of 5K residents. We just go there when we have to. We never much liked the town but it was a pretty safe place day or night and people were friendly. But now the homeless have moved in and the damn meth heads are everywhere. For the first 13 years we...
According to that article, this "meat" raised in a stainless steel vat will cost about $20/pound. Are they yanking my chain?? They'd have to pay me to eat it. Since that will never happen, rest assured I'll starve before I'll ever eat any of that crap.
Sooner or later it will become law...
David, that bacon dome looks VERY impressive. Gotta try one of them. The unfortunate thing is mine would only look that impressive until I sliced and plated it. Then I'm sure it would look like pan fried spuds with some bacon scattered over the top. Pretty sure the first on will be a table...
We took our grandson to the fair in town last year--everything was about triple what it cost pre-pandemic. Sure didn't take long to start thinking about a second mortgage. :emoji_astonished::emoji_disappointed: Gotta say my friend., I like your area a whole lot better.

I taught my 5 year old grandson, Orion, to pee outside this spring. Once was all it took and for the next 2 weeks anytime he had to go, he'd just drop his pants and let 'er rip. I've since been informed, by his mother, that I should have also taught him that peeing outside at Grampa's place...
A Grandson--that's great news, Jim. Every Grampa needs at least one Grandson to pass his "wisdom" on to.
We only have one grandchild, but he's all boy. Great to have around, but as all boys can be, at 5 years old he can be a real handful--that's when its time for Grampa to step up and steer...
