Did Masterbuilt change the dimensions of their electric smokers as time went along? Been looking for a MES30 for a neighbor and the dimensions posted on Craigslist, etc vary big time.
Can a couple of you supply the outside dimensions of the depth (without door), width & height of the MES30...
Nice job. I love Meyer lemons, at least I better because I’m constantly harvesting them from my next door neighbor’s tree
Maybe I need to make a meringue pie as well. Thanks for the idea!
Not really sure what you mean by sheathing. I just transferred everything over to my Big Chief where necessary. With all the wiring under the floor of the smoker, I did nothing extra to protect the wiring.
SherryT, You're already mentally tearing apart a new MES40 before you get it and more importantly before it craps out on ya?
I would at least run a new smoker as is and then if and when it dies.....get out the surgical Auber gloves.
Getting the Auber WS-1510 for your big chief is a great way...
Here’s a pic of my Big Chief with a Proctor Silex element....
And connected to an Auber PID. Note the Auber temp probe going thru the side of the smoker. BTW, I think the Auber in this pic is the WS-1211H
Yes to the above. If the hot plate has a dial, such as I have on my Big Chief, crank it all the way too the hottest position. Plug it into the back of the PID and set your temps. Where's that pic ?????
Another possibility is to look at Auber WS-1510ELPM PID controller. None bluetooth but very reliable. All the Salmon I smoke says so....... :emoji_thumbsup:
When my Masterbuilt went out on me, I simply attached a new power cord directly to the element and then plugged the other end of the power cord to the PID. Never looked back.
