Start with a dry rub
Next, get on the BGE (Big Haas) at @240 with royal oak and cherry wood
After that, Pull off the smoker after 2 hours and 10 minutes...
Then, Wrapped in foil with root beer only (plenty of sugar and acid)...
Looking great from here! I like some bite through too but most of the crowd likes FOTB and so I try to do it without the mushy texture. My go-to is Coca-Cola in the foil but I will try some root beer this weekend! You did well!

It is an older model without the sliding upper rack. he said he doesn't have an upper rack at all for it. which is ok because I'm going to order stainless racks for it but I will have to get a pedestal rack.
I'm excited cant wait to get it!

So I have an update... I bought a lang from the Facebook marketplace. It's a used 48 I pickup Saturday but I got a really good deal and I can live without the huge wheels! she is in my profile pic and I will add a few below. I will post more pics when I pick her up!

a way to prevent a lot of the rust is to spray mineral oil or pam spray on the FB before every other smoke. heat it up when it still wet and the oil will bake on the paint and form a protective layer. also if any joint is tight like the pinwheels from rust spray some pam on them and work them...
Welcome from NC! as far a time what I do to make sure I have enough time for my hobby is get up early and smoke at 5 am on Saturday and then I'm done 12-1 pm and I have the rest of the day for other activities. the LSG will do you well and you can't have too big a smoker!

I would recommend doing it for free or just the price of meat, for me it's a labor of love and if you are helping someone out sometimes someone will help you out when you need it. but as for your time and energy donate it. give it some thought...
